The Deeper Analysis of the April 9, 1784 USA Chart

As mentioned in my “Happy 250th Birthday, USA… Or Is It?” article, this is a deeper look into the USA’s April 9, 1784 chart which I have analyzed so that we may understand how all the pieces of this USA puzzle fit together.

Chart Interpretation

Dominant Element = Fire (30.8%)
Dominant Mode = Cardinal (50.8%)
Dominant Planet = Mars
Dominant/Signature Sign = Aries

  • THE ASCENDANT

Chart Ruler = Mars (18° 11’ Gemini, 3rd, and Out of Bounds)

As there is no way to prove what time King George signed the ratification on this date, we can determine both through rectification of this date with the already vetted chart of July 4, 1776, and with the likelihood of the signing taking place in London, England – 5 time zones ahead – sometime between the hours of 8:00 am and 8:00 pm local time, find the most likely “birth time” based on these circumstances and likely time. The time of 5:07 AM Annapolis time would coincide with 10:07 AM in London on that day. The country, however, was not born in London, as its physical “body” was located in the States. At the time of the signing, Annapolis was the capital of the United States of America.

The Ascendant in the masculine fire sign Aries indicates an enterprising, enthusiastic, assertive, and initiative-sparking personality. This person is bold, frank, headstrong, pioneering, and inclined toward self-reliance and independence. They like to be first. They like to be in charge. They do not like to be told what to do or how to do it (they definitely don’t read the instructions). They tend toward rashness, impatience, impulsivity, competition, and combativeness in their interactions with others. They are usually keen to start projects, and possess wonderful amounts of energy to get both people and things motivated and moving, but tend to leave the details of finishing the projects up to others. They get bored easily and may be prone to taking too many risks that put themselves and others in danger. They value challenges, and their bold temperament tends to get them through the door, at least. But when faced with consequences for their behavior, they may lash out in anger and prefer to choose violence over calm deliberation, compromise, and cooperative diplomacy.

The chart ruler will explain how this energy is typically expressed. In this case, Mars in Gemini and Out of Bounds expresses this fiery Aries energy with a war of words more often than not, though it carries wild unpredictability in this signature and one can never tell whether this individual will act rationally or create chaos with a side of impenetrable wordsmithing and legalese.

There is a keen intelligence in this signature. New ideas will be generated through this personality that the world has never conceived of before. Leaps and bounds can be made in the realm of communications, law, and politics. The problems may lie in how the Ascendant and its ruler, Mars, are aspected, and what other planetary influences may sway it toward unconscious, compulsive behaviors that keep it locked in its immaturity.

See the “Notable Placements and Aspects” section of this article for details on any important aspects that involve the Ascendant in Aries or the Chart Ruler Mars in Gemini.

  • THE SUN

The Sun in the horoscope is the anchor point of all the other planets, and it is indicative of the native’s core personality and how they express themselves in the world on a basic level. As an Aries Sun, this native tends to demand attention by bursting onto the scene in a bold fashion everywhere they go. People can’t help but notice them, and they could care less what others make of them, because they exude confidence, bravado, and self-assuredness constantly.

They are daring, brave, independent, and fearless, often going where angels fear to tread. They can be combative, competitive, and brash, and often insist on being both first in line and the best in the group. They demand preferment, which often sparks resentment from others. Though they may have a quick and hot temper, they easily shake off defeats and disappointments and begin almost immediately preparing for the next challenge, battle, or competition.

They have the potential to be a great leader if they can set aside their haughtiness and aggression long enough to step into a warrior mindset – sacrificing themselves so that others can thrive.

The Sabian Symbol for the Sun’s placement at 20° Aries is:

A BOXER IS ENTERING THE RING

This Symbol shows that there may be a temptation to take on issues, even to fight, but it needs to be with dignity and regulation. You may feel a need, or the urge, to step up to the plate and take something or someone on. There are rules to follow and often others will end up being the judge of the final outcome. Make sure you possess the skills and training to defend what you believe. Remember that sometimes you need to back off if you’re not winning a contest. Question: are you more on the attack or on the defense?

Conscious expression: Physical or psychological self-assertion and determination. Fighting for one’s emotional, psychological or physical space. Being a contender. Entering the ring or the arena.

Unconscious expression: Using power to dominate people or those who challenge you. Wanting to knock people out. Storming in and taking over. Looking for combat. Being combative.

    SUN IN 1ST HOUSE

Having the Sun in the 1st house is an Aries-flavored position, no matter what sign it resides in. This native’s Sun being in Aries only doubles this. On top of that, the energy is further magnified by the Sun’s proximity (conjunction) to both Mercury and the Ascendant. Typically, this would be referred to as a “triple Aries,” but I am inclined to call it a quadruple Aries due to its position in the 1st house.

In other words, they are oozing Aries energy from their pores.

This means that they are youthful, energetic, and exciting to be around because they bring the exhilarating zing of exploratory youth with them wherever they go. They bravely and brazenly chart the path through the unknown for others to follow. They are assertive and confident and are quick to fight in defense of what they feel they are entitled to. Their high energy and independence inspires others to take up their own adventures in their lives. They make a great leader as they mature.

They are independent in the extreme, and they demand the right to make their own way in the world. They require absolute freedom and balk at restrictions on their behavior. They are driven by their own personal interests and are not concerned with what others are doing whatsoever. This tends to be perceived as selfishness at times, as they can be somewhat allergic to the consideration of others.

They learn through experiences, and they are determined to assert their right to their own triumphs and mistakes. They are sometimes competitive, combative, and brash. They have a lot of energy to start things – anything that captures their interest or inspires them, and they are quick on the draw – but they often drop the ball as soon as they become bored, which unfortunately does not take very long as they are always seeking the next thrill. They are enthralled by anything new and untried.

    ASPECTS:

The placement of any planet or point is just the beginning, whereas the aspects that planet or point makes to other planets and points in the chart tell the story of how that planet will likely behave in the individual.

A big factor in the nation’s shapeshifter persona is its Mars in Gemini, which is its chart ruler. A lot has been said in recent years in anticipation of the USA’s “Uranus Return” - which references the Sibley Chart (or Rudhyar Chart)’s Uranus in Gemini, and points to how every 84 years this “return” kicks off some sort of violence and war. Well, I’m here to argue that it is not because of the supposed Uranus Return that brings these events about, but because of Uranus coming into direct contact (conjunction) with the nation’s MARS in Gemini that lights the fuse of war and chaos together (Mars is the god of war, and Uranus is most definitely the chaos planet).

Mars in Gemini has two faces: one is bright, witty, a quick learner, adept with building and creating amazing new things; and the other is short-tempered, quick to react, and tends to be condescending and arrogant because it thinks it knows better than everyone else. There is a real Jekyll and Hyde component to this placement. Incredible intelligence is paired with haughty reactivity and a restless nature. It’s almost too fast for its own good.

Perhaps one of the biggest differences between the July 4th chart and my chart is the Pluto Placement. In the July 4th chart, it is at 27° Capricorn; in my chart, it is at 11° Aquarius. This is important not only because of the sign change, but because of the timing of the Pluto Return.

The Pluto Return is a profound time of reckoning, transformation, and rebirth. It only happens approximately every 248 years, so humans won’t experience this on a personal level. But entities like countries certainly can.

According to the July 4th chart, the USA’s Pluto Return occurred between 2020 and 2024, with it finally leaving Capricorn for good on November 19, 2024, notably just two weeks after the 2024 election.

I do think this transit was important and definitely blew apart the ideas the country was founded upon - the 1776 Declaration, it’s concept, it’s conception.

But in my chart, the Pluto Return will occur on March 17, 2030, when Pluto reaches 11° Aquarius, and I think it will be by then that we see the actual rebirth.

Just remember, birth is messy, painful, and bloody. I would say the contractions began in 2020.

More on this soon in a separate analysis. <3

  • LILITH:

    ·         Lilith (Mean) and Lilith (True) in Leo: With Lilith in Leo, you may sometimes believe that others are taking advantage of your good nature. You believe that you give, give, give and get little in return. In fact, you might not be aware of just how much others are doing for you. In fact, it is highly possible that you are the one who is taking, taking, taking and not acknowledging the support that you actually receive. The positive side of Leo is honesty. You know these traits exist and that you need to address them and you will do so. You need to acknowledge your need to shine, the support that others offer you, and the gratitude that you truly feel. Once you have done this then you are able to give back. The Black Moon’s gift is the opportunity to bring unconscious or self-defeating behavior into the light of day where it can no longer run amok. You have the opportunity to achieve great things in cooperation with other people, either your loved ones close to home or coworkers in society.

    ·         Lilith (True) in the 5th house: Whether you realize it or not, you have a dark side of your nature, in that you would rather play than take responsibility for your life. You can be a bit of a rabble-rouser. Your own creative pursuits are paramount, fulfilling a deep need within you. So much so that you feel that others, particularly children, are standing in your way. You may blame other people, perhaps even your own children, for preventing you from following your passionate interests. Nevertheless, it is you who needs to find a balance between fun and duty. The Black Moon’s gift is the opportunity to bring unconscious or self-defeating behavior into the light of day where it can no longer run amok. Once you have found this balance, then you may be an excellent teacher, artist, and parent.

But when triggered or motivated by a crisis or necessity, they can step up and make magic like it’s second nature to them. The element (Water, Earth, Air, or Fire) of the grand trine elevates the energies of the planets to another level of that element’s specialty: Water is emotional intelligence; Earth is grounded rationality and practicality; Air is mental acuity and communication skills; Fire is inspiration and leadership skills. The combination of the planets’ individual energies is then read through the lens of the element the trine resides in.

    Interpretation:

The Grand Fire Trine involving Lilith, Moon, and Mercury, the Anti-Vertex, and the Ascendant will showcase a feisty, rebellious, defiant, reckless, impetuous, fun-loving, enterprising, responsibility-eschewing, and self-centered personality. Things may be taken too far, too fast. The Sagittarius Moon in this configuration is both out of bounds and in the 8th house, indicating an extreme level of intuitive and psychic ability coupled with an intense need for learning, through grueling experiences, all about the meaning of life, death, and the exploration of the hidden realms. Trine Mercury in Aries, there is a tendency to be outspoken and blunt, sometimes charming, and sometimes conniving and manipulative. There is a balance with this trine that brings both the head and the heart together. Trine the Ascendant, the Moon typically receives a softer quality that endows its blunt expression with empathy; however, in Aries, this Ascendant may sharpen the axe instead of softening its blow. The 8th house Sagittarius Moon tightly trine 5th house Lilith in Leo, however, synthesizes an outward-facing jovial presentation with a secretive, darker interior that seeks freedom and independence above all else, coupled with profound intuition and a magnetic charisma. Mercury conjunct the Aries Ascendant imbues this native with an outgoing, often forceful and self-centered personality that tends to force its viewpoints and energy onto others without their consent. It can tend toward arrogance and bully behavior at times and may have the loudest voice in the room with a tendency to talk over others and/or to interrupt. It has the potential to be a strong leader, though its potential immaturity and selfish conceitedness may derail its efforts, leading to resentment from others. There is a strong need to be first, to be right, and to take all the glory for all its endeavors. Mercury and Ascendant trine Lilith in the 1st and 5th houses, and in Aries and Leo, lends a magnetic, diva-type quality to its communication style and persona. There is an innate talent for weaving together half-truths and partialities to create a glamorous image that may not hold under scrutiny. There is a dichotomy here that signals a degree of cultivated presentation with a seedy, and at times contradictory and hypocritical undercurrent. Rebellion and disdain for authority is an ever-present stance. Taboo and unconventional subjects fascinate, and there is an inherent bravery and bravado to take on new and unfamiliar paths with nonchalance. There may be a desire to take power and dominate, lest it become dominated itself. Yet all of this will be presented glamorously, crafted in a way that may truly inspire others to collaborate on projects that challenge and transform the overarching status quo; yet it will always have the underlying background motivation of maintaining its own power and status.
The Vertex (Anti-Vertex) involved in this grand trine is interesting because it is a hypothetical point based on where the Prime Vertical intersects with the Ecliptic in the west; the Anti-Vertex in the east. These represent portals in our lives and can indicate where influential people arrive and leave and pertinent events start and finish. The Anti-Vertex conjunct Mercury and the Ascendant in Aries indicates that communication might be a challenge for this native. There may be difficulty in being understood. There may be a convergence in this native’s life of the arrival of persons different from themselves, which can be an ongoing challenge to constantly be required to refine and redefine its self-concept and self-expression. Fresh perspectives are constantly arriving, challenging established ideas and mindsets. This constant engagement with contrasting viewpoints can cause frustration and spark disagreements and conflict, but it can also inspire intellectual and spiritual growth, testing you to find the middle ground of compromise. Partnerships and collaborations may tend to arrive suddenly and will significantly impact your life path. These may act as a mirror, reflecting back the issues or negative qualities you need to work on within yourself. Blending logic and intuition and keeping an open mind and adventurous spirit with a will to embrace evolution and learn from others will be highly beneficial to navigating these challenges and aligning with your true purpose.

  • Mars, Moon, Vesta square the Nodes: (see https://www.psycheastro.com/posts/squares-to-the-nodes)

Mars square the Nodes: Keeping your anger and your temper in line is your lesson. Learning the difference between being a warrior and a criminal (fighting only when you have to protect others as opposed to fighting solely to victimize others) is key. You may experience others’ violence as a personal lesson.
Mars out of bounds in Gemini, 3rd house square North Node in Pisces in 12th house and South Node in Virgo in 6th house:  Mars’ tendencies toward aggressive and combative behavior becomes exaggerated when it is out of bounds. In Gemini and in the 3rd house, this may manifest as dominating behavior in the realm of communication, intellectual pursuits, and dealings with friends and neighbors. There may indeed be excellence in these realms, as its drive to pursue and dominate in fields of technology, the press, media, education, and learning will be unparalleled. However, the drive to turn this into a never-ending competition to be the best in comparison to others in close proximity will dull its shine and cause it to be viewed as tiresome at best and ingratiating and offensive – or even violating and criminal – at worst. As this placement is also square the Nodes in Pisces (NN 12th house) and Virgo (SN 6th house), the lesson is to become aware of this trait and to consciously curb it with the goal of releasing ego and the need to be perfect and right in all things (Virgo SN) and choose to selflessly act in the service of others in a way that expands the heart and the elevates the spirit (Pisces NN) of all involved, instead.

    Moon square the Nodes:
Your task will be learning to get your emotions under control, both your inner experience of them and your outer expression of them. Integrating your inner child into your adult self will be key to these lessons. Healing from and overcoming childhood trauma may be a part of your lesson and the only way to get out of your own way and to stop blocking your own evolution. You may only learn and grow through hard experiences that force you to feel the depth of the consequences of your actions and unconscious choices.

Moon out of bounds in Sagittarius in the 8thsquare North Node in Pisces in 12th house and South Node in Virgo in 6th house:  The Moon’s tendencies to be emotionally expressive, sensitive, imaginative, and intuitive becomes exaggerated when it is out of bounds. In Sagittarius and in the 8th house, this creates a wild reactivity in the native whose first knee-jerk reaction is always to cut and run. A hot temper and self-focus is also a distinct feature with this placement. Emotions may be expressed via condescending lecturing and philosophical projecting that relieves the native of having to experience the pain of personal accountability. A haughtily vindictive, retaliatory stance is likely to be taken; a dark sense of humor that is simultaneously morbid and cutting may also be present. A wildly fluctuating and unstable emotional psyche is likely to present, with unconscious behaviors that likely stem from maltreatment in childhood or with/from the mother; there is likely unresolved trauma that causes emotional discord and hypersensitivity. As this placement is also square the Nodes in Pisces (NN 12th house) and Virgo (SN 6th house), the lesson is to become aware of this trait and to consciously curb it with the goal of releasing ego, defensiveness, reactive criticism, and the need to be perfect and right in all things (Virgo SN) and choose to selflessly act in the compassionate service of others in a way that expands the heart and the elevates the spirit and consciousness (Pisces NN) of all involved, instead.

    Vesta square the Nodes
: You may unconsciously sabotage your progress toward your spiritual evolution because you become invested in things, projects, or side quests that distract you. In this case, you may become more invested in material comforts and luxury goods than in spiritual growth (Vesta at 29° Taurus 2nd house vs North Node in Pisces 12th house). When you allow these distractions, you rebound back toward the negative qualities of your South Node (in Virgo and in the 6th house), which is expressed in a compulsion toward perfectionism, obsession with the health of the physical body, hypochondria, and self-criticism.  When you are able to utilize the higher expression of Vesta in Taurus in the 2nd house – investing in security and comfort for personal stability so that it can be the ground to share in service of the collective and for the common good – then you can support your evolution toward higher spiritual attainment and enlightenment of the North Node in Pisces in the 12th house and release the compulsion to cling to the energy of egoic fear and grasping for control of the South Node in Virgo.

  • Out of Bounds means the planet’s declination is beyond the earth’s ecliptic, beyond the plane of the earth’s orbit around the sun (more on that here: https://www.psycheastro.com/posts/where-the-wild-things-are-the-out-of-bounds-planets).

Out of Bounds planets are “wild,” and have no boundaries or restrictions on their behavior; they are “extra” in their expression, both positively and negatively, in equal measure. For example, if someone’s Moon is out of bounds, they are said to be very “moony” in their behavior or expression, meaning they are extra sensitive, intuitive, have strong emotions and reactivity, and can get mired in their feelings often.

Moon out of bounds makes the emotional nature more extreme, and with the Moon in Sagittarius and in the 8th house, this emphasizes the need for physical, emotional, and intellectual freedom, exploration, joviality, doing things “just for the fun of it,” play, and continual celebration (especially with alcohol and experimentation with party drugs). The expression will be blunt and at times harsh, laden with insensitive truth-telling, despite also being extremely sensitive to being called out. “Can’t you take a joke?” is a common refrain heard from this Moon, though it usually cannot withstand its own brand of “joking.” There is often a need to grandstand and preach, and there could be zealous feelings attached to what it believes to be right and true. This Moon enjoys being seen and heard, and loves being the center of attention; it is often rightfully accused of being loud and boisterous and can be spotted coming from a mile away. Intellectual expansion is a compulsion and the intellect and its spawn may be vast. There is a drive to do “the impossible” just because someone said it can’t be done – there exists a vain (5th house) belief (Sagittarius) that one can be and do anything, and its belief – which knows no bounds – makes it so.
Moon in Sagittarius needs freedom, adventure, openness to experience and growth, spirituality, to teach others “The Way,” and to be believed in. In the 8th house, it needs the freedom to become emotionally entwined with whomever inspires them in the moment, as well as to drop them and move on when the winds shift.

Mars out of bounds increases the drive, passion, leadership, athleticism, courage, volatility, criminality, and combativeness in natives. In Gemini and in 11th house, this could look like competition between friends, needing to out-smart peers or to be first in new discoveries or technological advancements that serve the common good, having a brash or combative communication style that leans heavily on wit, snark, sarcasm, and sardonic humor, having a tendency to verbally attack or put others down (like a bully) in group settings (like a playground or school yard, where everyone is gathered for a common goal), unwillingness or disinterest in topics that require depth or sustained attention, and a desire to learn big subjects quickly and then move on to the next as if there is a race to gain knowledge or experience in serving the collective. It can indicate being hyper focused on being first or “the best” on the world stage but not having the philosophic depth to actually deliver past the display, idea, or simply conversational exchange of shiny, new, distracting toys.  News and conversation domination as well as cheerful solipsism feature with this placement as does fiercely competitive creativity.

Uranus Out of Bounds: Innovation knows no boundaries with this placement.

Pluto Out of Bounds: A lust for Power is insatiable with this placement.

  • YOD 1: Sun sextile Mars; both inconjunct Ceres

YOD 2: Saturn/Psyche sextile Eros/Nessus; all inconjunct Juno

YOD 3: Ceres sextile Eris; both inconjunct Mars

Yods: the sextiled planets at the base of the yod have to work together and fuse their energies, which is easy to do with a sextile, and express the energy at the apex of the yod, the 3rd planet, harmoniously. They overcome the individual inconjuncts – a challenging aspect - to the apex planet by working together.

Interpretation: You effortlessly fuse your intense, emotional drive toward evolution with empathy and imagination, yet your challenge is to utilize these two energies together to express your ability to nurture both the masculine (independent and resourceful) and feminine (empathetic and receptive) aspects of yourself and those around you in a balanced way that integrates both your ego and your emotions in a way that inspires others.

  • T-SQUARE 1: Mercury square Uranus square Neptune (Mercury opposite Neptune)

  • FIXED GRAND CROSS: Juno in Leo (drama, entertainment) square Ceres/Pallas in Scorpio (sex, manipulation, mind control) square Jupiter in Aquarius (29 deg – dogmatic, zealous, fixated on beliefs) square Chiron/Vesta in Taurus (both a wound and an “investment” in money – self worth is found by intense moneymaking)

Interpretation: Grand Crosses indicate conflict and grindingly stuck energy; fixed grand crosses are doubly so because the fixed element does not like change or compromise. This can create some dramatic energy from you when you feel challenged or confronted by others because your tender feelings (Moon in Scorpio in 4th house) are magnified by intense and volcanic Pluto (Scorpio, 4th) and opposed by stubborn and willful Mars in Taurus (10th). People who try to force you to do anything are in for a real surprise; you shall remain unmoved until you decide for yourself, and that could take years for you are no stranger to a grudge or to stonewalling. This will play out in your relationships as your Ascendant (self-expression) and your Descendant (relationships with others) are involved in this quartet. You will do yourself many favors to put the explosives down and work on your temper so that you are less reactive and more responsive, less triggered into rage and defiance and emotional backlash and more focused on the results you truly want to foster in the long run, and not just the immediate hellfire you wish to unleash in the heat of the moment.

  • THOR’S HAMMER 1: Moon square South Node; both sesquisquare Sun (Sun = apex)

    (See: https://www.psycheastro.com/posts/compulsively-repulsive-a-case-study-in-astrological-thors-hammers)

Note: By nature, Thor’s Hammers incite the more negative qualities of the planets by the very nature of the challenging aspects involved; you will see below these negative qualities described and not the higher expression of these planets. This is intentional in order to illustrate both the challenge and the solution.

Theme: The inner conflict or tension (square) between your (Moon in Sagittarius, 8th) inability to hold boundaries and controlling and isolationist nature and your (South Node in Virgo, 6th) outspoken, impulsive, reckless, and vengeful behavior, leads you to act out repeatedly in (Sun in Aries, 1st) perfectionistic, hypochondriacal, obsessive-compulsive, micromanaging ways.

Solution: The most direct solution to this inner conflict is to (higher vibe of Sun in Aries, 1st): use your eye for perfectionism to hone a craft, skill, or talent, productively and consciously, in ways that builds your self-esteem so that you can begin to heal your inner wounding that likely came from childhood; learn about Internal Family Systems (No Bad Parts by Dr. Richard C. Schwartz is an excellent book that I highly recommend) and how to heal your inner critic, which was likely imposed upon you at a tender age, so that you can heal that part of you that feels you need to be perfect or to perform perfectly.

Theme: The inner conflict or tension (square) between your (Juno in Leo, 5th) intense and overwhelming emotional reactivity and pain that you express as anger and your (Pallas in Scorpio, retrograde, 8th) perfectionistic, hypochondriacal, obsessive-compulsive, micromanaging behavior, leads you to act out repeatedly in (Mercury in Aries, 1st) outspoken, impulsive, reckless, and vengeful ways.

Solution: The most direct solution to this inner conflict is to (higher vibe of Mercury in Aries, 10th): productively and consciously use your deeply insightful compassion and empathy to lead others to solutions instead of fomenting more problems.

THOR’S HAMMER 3: Sun square Saturn/Psyche; both sesquisquare South Node

  • WEDGE 1: Neptune semisquare Pallas; Neptune square Uranus; Pallas sesquisquare Uranus

Relationship issues – independence/career/defying authority/wanting freedom and autonomy vs wanting partnership; being committed to communicating with your intimate partner and working as  a team toward collective harmony will be helpful for you, but you must first find healthy self-esteem as an individual who has something to share with another and who is okay with walking away when the teamwork isn’t shared.

WEDGE 2: Mars square Venus/Nessus; Mars semisquare Mean/True Lilith; Venus sesquisquare Mean/True Lilith

WEDGE 3: Mars square Venus/Nessus; Mars sesquisquare White Moon Selena; Venus semisquare White Moon Selena (White Moon Selena is opposite Mean/True Lilith – this forms a really weird rectangle with Mars and Venus/Nessus, and Pluto is conjunct White Moon Selena intensifying the aspect).

WEDGE 4: Jupiter semisquare Eris; Jupiter square Vesta; Eris sesquisquare Vesta

Michael Jackson, Gary Oldman, Rene Magritte’s Jupiter is at 29° Libra. At 29° Taurus, there is Pleiades star cluster, it is of the nature of the Moon and Jupiter. The process is of gaining “solid” confidence in oneself and one’s own resources before moving into a changeable sign, Gemini.

Donald Trump has his ascendant at 29 degrees Leo which is why his personality is considered charismatic but to an exaggerated degree. Flamboyant and self-centered. He believes he is “misunderstood”.

“It is very common in the charts of well-known, top-of-their-profession people to have a planet in 29° or a house cusp. Many a well-known movie actor’s Moon or Mercury is at 29°. 29° Cancer is defined as “Millionaire’s Degree”, Royal Star Regulus is at 29° Leo, Regulus may bring great fame and honour, but the chart owner shouldn’t get carried away by fame & arrogance, otherwise he might lose everything that he has, especially his respectability. It would be wrong to define 29° as just the degree of crisis and troubles, although it might bring difficult experiences. It also has the power to give a person an extraordinary success and talent, when the person proves his mastery over the matters of the sign where 29° is placed.” (https://astrolojiokulu.com/en/29-yirmi-dokuz-derece/)

29° - The Anaretic Degree: The term "anaretic" comes from the Greek "anaretikos," meaning "destructive." The 30th degree of each sign, that is, the last, between 29° and 29°59', is often referred to as the "degree of crisis" or the "karmic degree" or “degree of fate.” It represents the culmination of the sign's energy before transitioning to the next sign. It indicates an intensely sensitive placement that often is expressed with anxious anticipation and even angst due to the fact that it is “filled up” with the energy of that sign and poised for change that never seems to come, as it is forever on the edge of changing signs; as opposed to 0° of a sign, which is brand new sign energy and generally more open to input. It is considered a critical degree and indicates a crisis point.

Cafeastrology.com states, “If a natal planet is found at 29 degrees of any sign, also known as the Anaretic degree, there can be some real issues with decision-making in that part of the personality represented by the energies of the planet. The native may evaluate and re-evaluate situations before making a move one day, and the next day, jump into the action without listening to himself or herself! For example, if Mars is at 29 degrees, the native may devise many plans of actions, worry excessively about the possible actions and different routes to take, and then execute a spontaneous action that is contrary to the decision! … Besides decision-making problems, vacillation, and jumping into situations blindly, the 29th degree is also associated with a sense of urgency. It’s the last degree of the zodiac sign, and there can be a real sense of urgency surrounding the characteristics and associations of the particular sign. There can also be a general weakness in this area – it can be a point of poor choices, difficulties, crisis, or overcompensation. While the classic critical degrees above are thought to give added strength to the planet or body, the anaretic degree is more of a debilitating position.” (https://cafeastrology.com/criticaldegrees.html)
