Pluto and Uranus: The Game Changers
We have some very unique and disruptive - and massively transformative - transits coming up!
Pluto, the planet of profound transformation, is about to go out of bounds – a complete game changer – on Sunday, August 31, 2025 in Aquarius, which is ruled by Uranus.
Uranus, the planet of awakening, unexpected change, innovation, and revolution, is stationing in preparation to go retrograde in Gemini, in exact trine aspect to Pluto, also on Sunday, August 31, 2025.
This is Labor Day Weekend in the USA.
What the heck does this mean? You may ask. I’m glad you asked. Keep reading.
Pluto
I’ve already published a detailed essay on Out of Bounds Planets, so I’ll skip ahead to describing this particular transit. It means we are about to face an existential reckoning in our global social structure, the likes which we have not seen since the American and French Revolutions. There will likely be some chaos and upheaval involved.
The recently published book, Persephone’s Revolution: Pluto’s Path to the End of Empire, by Rosie Finn, explains in great detail how Pluto’s upcoming final, ten-year sojourn into out of bounds territory - to the South, in particular - heralds the mass awakening of humanity on an evolutionary scale that will displace the rule of tyrants, dictators, and parasitic plutocrats that is extracting from the people with compassionate, benevolent governance that is truly by the people and for the people.

According to Roseann Finn, author of Persephone’s Revolution: Pluto’s Path to the End of Empire,
“Pluto… is here to teach us about power, our power, how we have power and how to be in our power. So often in our lives we project our power onto others…other people, other organisations, governments, religions. We dance in a victim-perpetrator illusion. Taskmaster Pluto moves us beyond that dance. As it transits each celestial factor in our chart, Pluto offers us another chance to negotiate our relationship to power and its expression. When Pluto transits out-of-bounds (OOB), it takes this dance to next level and correlates with times when societies are taken hostage by tyrants and dictators (out-of-bounds north) and when people claim their power through revolutions and reformations (out-of-bounds south).”
We are about to enter Pluto’s last era of going out of bounds (August 31, 2025, to November 14, 2035, to the South) for the next few thousand years, kicking off a revolutionary time of mass awakening and rebirth of human consciousness. “History tells us that a ‘redemption, a revolution, a mass-awakening of consciousness becomes not only possible but likely’ in the time ahead.”
For what it’s worth, Pluto was OOB South from 1774-1795, during the American and French Revolutions (Pluto in Aquarius) and was OOB North during most of WWII, off and on from 1938-1953 (Pluto in Leo).

The ancient mythology about Hades (Pluto), Demeter (Ceres), and Persephone (Kore, Proserpina) is a story of both inner and outer transformation. Trauma (power taken away), force (someone’s power over us), and self-empowerment are all themes in both the myth and in each of these planetary expressions.
The short version is that Hades abducted Persephone, so her earth goddess-mother Demeter put all of nature on forced strike (she essentially created winter) to protest her loss. Demeter petitioned Zeus to get her daughter back so Zeus sent Hermes, the messenger of the gods, who alone had the ability to travel between worlds as one of his godly duties was to guide the souls of the dead to Hades, down to the Underworld to retrieve her. As he was returning with her, Hermes discovered that Persephone had eaten six pomegranate seeds, the fruit of the underworld, thus binding her to that realm. This set off a chain of events that led to a compromise: Persephone would be required to remain in the realm of the dead for six months out of every year, thus creating the change of seasons. Once she accepted her fate, she became the benevolent and compassionate ruler of the dead, the Queen of the Underworld, and thus, no longer a victim of other people’s actions, stepped into her true power.
According to Rosie Finn’s astounding research and analysis, Pluto has Four Stages to its approximately 247-year cycle, and the below is quoted from her book, page 58 (Click each one for more):

Vision times begin when Pluto crosses the equatorial plane moving south to north. A time of visionaries.
Correlates with the birth of Persephone. Hades begins his reign over the world of the dead.
Our current cycle, which began with the Vision time, began in 1860 and lasted until 1865.

Power times begin when Pluto moves into extreme declination north between 23.44° north and a peak declination degree that varies in each cycle but is decreasing over time, and then finally travels back to 23.44° north. A time of tyrants and empire building that builds to a crisis point, an abuse of power.
Correlates with Persephone’s abduction.
This correlates with the years 1938 -1949, peaking in the summer of 1945 (atomic bombings), in our current cycle.
We will not see another extreme northerly declination period corresponding with extreme POWER abuses for thousands of years. This cycle has ended.

Justice times begin when Pluto crosses the equatorial plane moving north to south. This is when the populace rises up, inspired by the visionaries’ visions, and begin to cry for justice.
Correlates with Demeter and Hermes’ treaties with Zeus and Hades and the compromises made for Persephone’s freedom.
Corresponds with the years 1986-1989.

Reform times begin when Pluto moves into extreme declination south and a peak declination that varies in each cycle, decreasing over time, and then finally travels back to 23.44° south. This is a time for redemption, revolution, and mass awakening; a great uprising. A mass-awakening of consciousness becomes not only possible but likely.
Correlates with Persephone coming into her own as Queen of the Underworld, both rising from the land of the dead and claiming her crown as a benevolent and compassionate ruler of all souls.
Corresponds with the August 31, 2025 - November 14, 2035 in our current cycle.

Uranus, with its side-lying tilt, due to its axis of rotation being tilted about 98 degrees from its orbital plane, making it appear to roll rather than spin upright as it orbits the Sun. Another reason why this planet is designated as “weird and unusual.”
Uranus Retrograde Incoming (plus stationary days)
Uranus stations at 1° 27’ Gemini ALSO on August 31, 2025 and then turns retrograde on September 6, but will remain stationary and thus at its most chaotic and volatile; it will finally begin moving backwards on September 11, 2025 and goes direct at 27°27’ Taurus on February 3, 2026.
Prepare for 12 days of stationary Uranus, August 31 - September 11, coinciding with Pluto going Out of Bounds on the same day! Also coinciding with the Total Lunar Eclipse on September 7!
This is Tower Card energy.Stationing Uranus in Gemini Trine Pluto OOB in Aquarius: Information leaks, revelations, truth and the way forward are made starkly clear, things and people and power structures are being exposed, sharp instincts and penetrating insight are heightened.
Stationing Uranus in Gemini square Mercury (Gemini ruler) in late Leo and into early Virgo (domicile and exalted): This will be an extremely challenging time to speak thoughtfully and deliberately as passions and tempers will be running high. Rashness and impulsiveness will be rife. Communications and agreements will be tested and likely disrupted. New information will be sought, and found. Greater clarity will abound after the smoke has cleared after this transit ends. Think of this as a Mercury retrograde on steroids (and maybe meth).
Stationing Uranus in Gemini sesquisquare Mars in Libra: Frustrations can quickly turn to infuriation as plans and paths get shifted and then shifted again. Libra’s genteel tact and charm might go by the wayside. Each time a fire gets put out, a new one crops up and innovative methods of attack must be consistently formed and re-formed. This is exacerbated by Mars square Jupiter in Cancer - crusader energy, everyone’s amped up. Try to keep your cool and take time outs as needed. Work in tandem with others - Libra’s specialty - and take shifts to keep everyone as balanced as possible.
Stationing Uranus in Gemini semisquare Jupiter in Cancer: Any restrictions to your freedom now are going to feel ingratiating and unbearable. People will be breaking free and won’t be feeling up to being moderate and easy going about things. Good judgement will be in short supply. Restraint and temperance will benefit in the long run.
Stationing Uranus in Gemini sextile Saturn and Neptune in Aries: The determination and imagination required to get through this quagmire are onside right now. We will have the energy and the inspiration needed to make the changes we need to old structures if we focus on fighting for the beauty of the world. USA New Chart – USA is an Aries, not a Cancer: I’m working with a new chart for the USA based on what I consider the birth date of the nation, and it is not July 4th, 1776. To me, that is the conception date, and, while very important to the ethos of the nation and its intent, if we are considering when an entity is born, that is when it is fully separated from it’s “mother” and an autonomous being, breathing on its own. This date that I am working with is the day that King George III signed the ratification of the Treaty of Paris, making it final and enacting it into law. That date was April 9, 1874. This does coincide with the July 4th chart quite a lot actually, which is helpful because that chart has been rectified and analyzed to death. There are multiple versions of the “USA Birth Chart” out there, and this alternative one is not new. But it has pinged my consciousness in a way that I can’t ignore.
I am working on a full, detailed reading of this chart which I think will be very helpful in seeing which way we (as astrological armchair counselors) who can coach this little nation to direct itself.
